Venom Power Eco Alkaline™ batteries feature 0% Mercury, 0% Cadmium, 0% Lead and are certified carbon neutral by Carbonfund.org. Venom’s Eco Alkaline batteries are progressive, high quality consumer batteries with performance rivaling national leading alkaline battery brands.

“Today’s consumers are more aware of the global warming and environmental impact of the products they use every day. Consumers are choosing Earth-friendly, sustainable products or those that reduce environmental impact over traditional alternatives,” says Clint Bower, President, Venom Group International.

Working with Carbonfund.org, which has the first carbon neutral product label in the U.S., Venom Power Eco Alkaline batteries are certified carbon neutral after a detailed product life-cycle assessment of carbon emissions, and offsetting the emissions that could not be avoided, for example, in the manufacturing process.

Venom is supporting Carbonfund.org and Paso Pacifico’s Return to Forest reforestation project. Validated by the Rainforest Alliance to the Climate, Community and Biodiversity Standards with Gold Distinction, the Return to Forest Project is helping to reforest as well as reconnect critical biological corridors along Nicaragua’s Pacific coast. The project also brings economic opportunities to local communities while sequestering about 170,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

“We applaud Venom Power for having its Eco Alkaline brand batteries certified as a carbon neutral product after a rigorous product life-cycle assessment. The brand now carries Carbonfund.org’s carbon neutral label and joins other distinguished brands that are taking leadership on climate change,” said Eric Carlson, President, Carbonfund.org. “Venom’s Eco Alkaline batteries provide an important and dependable alternative for consumers in the battery market.”

Venom’s Eco Alkaline batteries will begin shipping to retailers throughout North America during the fourth quarter this year. Eco Alkaline batteries are recyclable along with other dry-cell batteries.

Through its involvement in a new Windows 7 Professional beta program called Ignite, the eMazzanti Technologies is discovering ways to work more efficiently while reducing its carbon footprint on the environment. Features in the new operating system such as Trigger Start Services, Power Management, Problem Step Recorder and a host of enhanced navigation tools like Jump Lists, Shake, and Federated Search are speeding up workflow and helping to slow down power consumption.

eMazzanti Technologies is all about delivering powerful solutions in the most efficient manner possible to its more than 400 small and mid-size customers. The Hoboken, N.J., firm is located in one of the most densely populated — and competitive — regions in the U.S. Increasing productivity through better technology solutions is a philosophy eMazzanti first internalizes, then evangelizes to its customers and prospects. For example, its technology adoption must meet one or more criteria: (1) enhance the ability to serve its customers, (2) increase productivity in significant, incremental ways, (3) help create a competitive advantage, (4) promote conservation and green alternatives.

“Since our customers pay a flat monthly rate, we have to be efficient in order to keep them happy and make money,” said Carl Mazzanti, chief executive officer, eMazzanti Technologies. “We look for the best practices and technology to help us be competitive, productive and profitable.”

“We’re also looking for greener IT solutions for our customers that save paper or power,” noted Jennifer Mazzanti, president, eMazzanti Technologies. “PC users often turn off or change power saving features which drive up electricity costs or have productivity affected because laptop battery life is not what it ought to be.”

eMazzanti Technologies is discovering a number of features in Windows 7 that is helping it get work done faster with less impact on the environment. Windows 7’s productivity features such as Aero Snap (splitting of two windows side by side) and Aero Peek (a preview of minimized windows which helps eliminate hunting for an open window) help users move efficiently through otherwise cumbersome tasks, such as spreadsheet comparisons. The added benefit to efficient task completion is less energy consumption based on a lower time use. Trigger Start Services is another way Windows 7 looks to improve battery life and lower energy consumption. With this method of service delivery, Windows 7 only starts services when called upon instead of the default method of starting all important services. What this translates to is less hardware usage and, in turn, lower power consumption.

A 2009 PC Energy Report, produced by 1E and the non-profit Alliance to Save Energy indicates that about half of the 108 million office computers in the US are not properly shut down at night. The report analyzed workplace PC power consumption in the USA, United Kingdom and Germany.

Wasting electricity doesn’t just affect a company’s bottom line; it creates environmental concerns, as well. For example, the report claims: If the world’s 1 billion PCs were powered down just one night, it would save enough energy to light the Empire State Building — inside and out — for over 30 years.

“To make PC energy consumption more personal, ZDNet.com calculated the average CPU and monitor wasted approximately $90 per year in electricity,” noted Jennifer Mazzanti. “There’s both an economic and an environmental incentive to pay attention to greener computing.”

On October 3rd, over 150,000 people are slated to build a new solar landscape for America by participating in the non-profit American Solar Energy Society’s (ASES’) 14th Annual National Solar Tour, the world’s largest grassroots solar event.

The National Solar Tour provides solar-interested citizens an opportunity to view the real-life energy solutions people in their communities are deploying to save money, assert their energy independence and help the environment. Last year, 140,000 people in 49 states participated.

“After decades of development and growing numbers of installations, solar energy solutions have moved into the mainstream,” said ASES Executive Director Brad Collins. “Solar prices are 30% lower than we saw a year ago. State and federal incentives are gaining steam, and a new awareness surrounding how solar cuts energy costs, creates green jobs and improves property values is emerging,” he said.

“From Main Street to rural retreats, the National Solar Tour is changing how everyday folks view their energy choices. The National Solar Tour is a catalyst that’s accelerating the use of solar energy and energy efficient practices across America,” Collins added.

No longer price-prohibitive, solar electric and solar water-heating solutions are reaching middle America at an unprecedented pace. Those attending this year’s tour will discover a surprisingly diverse solar landscape – including solar-powered duplexes, houses, condos, businesses — even solar-powered funeral homes, schools, farms, courthouses and donut shops.

“With thousands of practical examples of how solar works in homes, businesses and public agencies similar to theirs, the National Solar Tour demystifies the allure of solar while inspiring people across the U.S. to harness its power and the many economic benefits it brings,” noted Charles Hanasaki, President of SANYO’s Energy USA Solar Division, a National Solar Tour supporter. SANYO produces the HIT Power® solutions which have some of the highest energy conversion efficiency ratings in the world.

“No other event in the nation brings the potent combination of neighbors, installers, business owners and related energy efficiency experts together to discuss the costs and benefits of solar energy across the U.S.,” Hanasaki said.

Solar tour locations, dates and times are listed by state at: www.NationalSolarTour.org. Those attending these open-house tours learn how to use solar and energy efficiency tactics to save on monthly utility bills, enjoy big tax incentives, improve property values, create a hedge against rising energy costs and help preserve the environment. ASES is providing “Get Started” solar guides to solar-inspired tour goers across the U.S.

Sustainable living expert Ed Begley, Jr., The Hollywood Star of Climate Change, says the lessons people take away from the tour are valuable for a variety of reasons.

“Sustainable living is not only good for the planet, it’s good for our wallets,” said Begley, whose recent book, “Ed Begley, Jr.’s Guide to Sustainable Living,” provides a plethora of practical tips on how to live a more efficient, earth-friendly life. “The National Solar Tour offers families an opportunity to have meaningful conversations with friends and neighbors who are reaping the benefits of renewable energy and energy efficiency each and every day. It’s a great way to get an up-close and personal perspective on how easy it can be to live the green life — and how rewarding.”

The National Solar Tour is a powerful collaboration of volunteers, industry experts, environmental groups, community coalitions, partner organizations and corporate and government sponsors, among them the U.S. Department of Energy, Conergy, the Sierra Club, Trina Solar, Apricus, BP Solar, Radiantec, Sanyo, Sun Crystals and Whole Foods Market. The event is coordinated nationally by the non-profit American Solar Energy Society.

One item on which this unusual complement of businesses, government agencies, educators and environmental groups (groups often at odds on myriad issues) can agree is solar’s place as an energizing force behind America’s desire for energy independence — and a vibrant clean energy economy.

“What ASES and its astounding network of clean energy enthusiasts have done to bring the benefits of solar energy to home and business owners across the U.S. is nothing short of remarkable,” notes Jyl Safier, Director of Marketing for Conergy, a Platinum National Solar Tour supporter who has sponsored the tour for three consecutive years. Conergy provides residential and utility-scale solar energy solutions to help customers cut energy costs, finance solar projects and reap rich cash and tax incentives.

“Solar energy,” Safier continued, “has evolved to the point where it’s not just good for the environment; it’s a cost-cutting, job-creating, business-savvy solution whose time has come.”

About the American Solar Energy Society
Established in 1954, the nonprofit American Solar Energy Society (ASES) is the nation’s leading association of solar professionals and grassroots advocates. Supported by more than 12,000 members, ASES’ mission is to speed the transition to a sustainable energy economy. ASES advances education, research and policy, inspiring the nation to go solar. ASES publishes the award-winning SOLAR TODAY magazine, presents the National Solar Conference, rallies citizens to build a Solar Nation, and leads the National Solar Tour – the world’s largest grassroots solar event. www.ases.org

EarthSure, a renewable energy company and innovator in alternative energy sources, announces the latest patent-pending renewable energy invention. WindAir™, a system for transforming the exhausted air flow from central air conditioning units into a source of renewable, clean energy (electric) will be bursting into the HVAC scene world-wide just in time for the next heat-wave.

How it Works:

The WindAir™ system uses the warm air flow from the exhaust of a traditional air conditioning unit and drives it into a secondary fan turbine system. This secondary system has an electric-generating mechanism that transforms the wind flow into free, clean, renewable energy which is then inverted into the electric meter of the home or office building.

This renewable energy has the capability to reduce the increase in electric used by the air conditioning system by generating enough electricity to send it back to the meter, thereby turning the air conditioning unit into an actual “sub-power station”. So every time you turn on the central air or cooling systems, your electric bill goes down instead of up! How’s that for a “cool” way to go green?

The unique WindAir™ converter system can be incorporated into any existing air conditioning condenser unit or manufactured as a complete new unit. This technology can be utilized within small homeowner units all the way up to the largest of commercial air conditioning applications.

Benefits:

The first and foremost benefit to the WindAir™ system is the ability to save significant amounts of money on one’s electric bill. Who doesn’t want to pay less? Secondly, the system turns an electric-guzzling machine that has been used for years and transforms it into a renewable energy source, aiding in a way to keep the environment clean, reducing our carbon footprint, and also lessening our reliance on foreign dependence on outside power sources.

The accomplishments of this novel secondary stage fan turbine will also offset the surge of electric that is straining our power plants and sub-stations during hot summer months. The unique methodology of this second stage fan turbine is actually turning an agent that normally uses a lot of electricity into a source that uses renewable energy.

The unique WindAir™ ‘shroud’ design will absorb the AC units’ operational sound to minimize the units’ noise pollution output, making for a much more peaceful environment. The ‘shroud’ design also captures more of the exhausted air conditioning unit’s air and funnels it in a more concentrated fashion with less waste of air stream, which will equate to higher electrical output.

The unit is also designed to protect the inside components of outdoor AC units from being exposed to the elements of weather, making these components rust-free and longer lasting. This design is also pet friendly and rodent resistant and in addition to eliminating the weather elements, it will keep out leaves and foreign debris.

About Earth-Sure:
EarthSure Renewable Energy Corp. is an American corporation innovating technologies to produce energy in a clean and affordable way. Utilizing solar and wind power as a source of renewable energy, EarthSure systems are alternatives to conventional energy producing methods that result in carbon emissions.

Ray Saluccio, an accomplished inventor and entrepreneur founded EarthSure Renewable Energy Corp. in order to market and develop the systems he designs and to bring solar energy production to the masses, easily and affordably.

EarthSure’s goal is to offer a cost-effective way for all individuals and businesses to use Green Energy, regardless of size or industry. A new online-based company, Solar-Deals.com, Inc., tackles the problem at a different angle supplying affordable solar cells, DIY solar panel kits, and other solar accessories allowing people to build their own solar panel at an astonishing low price.

Solar-Deals.com, incorporated under Solar-Deals.com, Inc., has announced that DIY solar panels also known as Do-It-Yourself solar panels that use monocrystalline solar cells or multicrystalline solar cells can cut costs up to 50% or more compared to commercial solar panels.

“People want affordable solar panels so they’re building their own to save. Our goal is to provide the public with inexpensive solar products enabling people to build their own solar panels. We’re mainly focused on providing affordable solar cells to the public and plan to carry many popular solar cell manufacturer brands in the near future,” said Nhia Moua, Founder & CEO of Solar-Deals.com, Inc.

The problem is commercial solar panels are still expensive and consumers are only looking for affordable products so they seek out other alternatives. They begin to search online for low-cost solar parts to build their own solar panels, but have a hard time finding the right products. Solar-Deals.com eliminates the hard work for the people by providing the right solar products at affordable prices so the people can proceed building their own solar panels.

Solar-Deals.com products include solar cells, DIY solar panel kits, and other solar accessories. Solar cells include 5″ monocrystalline solar cells and 6″ multicrystalline solar cells. DIY solar panel kits come in Starter Kits, for beginners interested in solar panels, and Advanced kits, for the experienced solar enthusiast. Solar accessories include tabbing wires, bus wires, rosin flux pen, and junction boxes, which are used to interconnect solar cells together and build the solar panel.

For beginners, solar cells are components made from silicon, the second most abundant element after oxygen. Solar cells are semiconductors which converts light directly into electricity. They are connected together and used inside solar panels to generate free electricity directly from the sun.

“The great thing about solar panels is you can generate free electricity from the sun. A person can connect their solar panel to a battery and power inverter then use the AC outlet to plug in their electronics. This setup allows the person to power electronics such as their laptop or other small devices. Solar panels can also provide electricity for RVs, boats, and outdoor appliances. There are unlimited ways you can use a solar panel to power your electronic needs,” Nhia said.

This week, Solar-Deals.com will give away 100 pieces of 5″ monocrystalline solar cells to one randomly chosen newsletter subscribers. Every week Solar-Deals.com plans to randomly giveaway a free product to one of their subscribers and encourages people to go solar. Solar-Deals.com encourages people to build their own solar panel because it is affordable, eco-friendly, and of course, able to generate free electricity.

Next Alternative Inc. wants to steer the future of the electric car and the U.S. auto industry itself into greener, and much more distant, pastures. Destinations that were once unattainable by the most efficient battery-powered cars will be an easy road trip with one of the company’s new Carbon Nano Tube batteries (CNT Battery) under the hood.

With 8 times the Reserve Capacity (RC) of typical lead/acid batteries, CNT Battery technology allows cars to travel hundreds of miles between charges, up to an estimated 380 miles per charge. Even more impressive, CNT Batteries recharge in ten minutes from a regular electrical outlet, about the time it takes for a highway road trip pit stop. An hour’s worth of recharging could add up to a pollution-free, coast-to-coast trip through Capitol Hill. The battery can be modified to the specifications of existing batteries.

CNT batteries provide the hybrid and electric car markets with a battery that far exceeds anything currently available to them at this time. Micro Bubble Technology, Inc. (MBTI), based in South Korea, developed CNT Battery technology. Carbon Nano Tubes are tiny tubular structures composed of a single layer of carbon atoms. MBTI developed a proprietary method of coating the anode, cathodes and modifying the electrolyte with Carbon Nano Tubes. The diminutive tubes hold 8 times as much energy as the lead in lead/acid batteries, and can hold a minimum of 2 times as much energy as rechargeable lithium batteries.

“CNT Batteries are superior to lead/acid batteries, lithium batteries and the silicone batteries powering electric cars today. Silicone based batteries perform better than current lead/acid batteries but do not allow electric vehicles to have a long range and require lengthy recharge times. Lithium-based batteries are expensive to produce and have lengthy recharge times. CNT technology will revolutionize the electric car industry, propelling it forward with battery that gives cars a much longer range and minimal recharge time.” Next Alternative, Inc., President and CEO, Robert Ireland

As the U.S. government pushes for less dependence on fossil fuels through the development of alternative energy solutions, and leans on auto manufactures to create greener, more fuel efficient vehicles, the introduction of CNT batteries may just give the U.S. auto manufacturers the extra boost to help get their businesses back up to speed.

We already know the effects of so called vampire energy drainers, these are the devices that in the background secretly suck your electricity supply whilst you not using the device. An awful lot of electricla devices we use use pretty much the same amount of energy in standby mode as they do when they are switched on and in use. None more so than our games consoles. When we switch our console off using the switch on the console is it really off. The Nintendo Wii for example justs moves to a standby mode, the same goes for set top boxes such as satellite/cable receivers, the worst however are the chargers for devices such as mobile phones which suck electricity even if the phone is not connected. There is only one way to make sure these type of devices are not using electricity whilst you are not using them and creating you a larger energy bill as well as creating enormous overheads for energy companys and the emissions they currently produce is to switch them off completely at the wall socket. This however is not very convenient especially if many devices are connected to a multi plug strip sor example. There are many devices around that address this issue, but a new product, TV TrickleSaver can address these problems by stopping the flow of electricity to a device when it is in standby mode.

In a recent report by the Australian Consumer Association that one of the devices that consumed the most power was a Sony PS3, closely followed by a Microsoft Xbox 360 and Plasma TV’s. It was reported that a PS3 used over ten times more power than a Nintendo Wii.

The TV TrickleSaver uses circuitry to detect whether the television is switched on or off, when it detects the television is off it will switch off all accessory devices such as your game consoles, thus saving you and planet from using so much energy.

Going to be close to river or stream? Then maybe Bourne Energy’s new RiverStar BackPack Power Plant is for you. The backpack is a small man-portable renewable hydro energy generator that is only 3 feet long and weighs less than 30 pounds. Eack pack is self contained with it’s own integrated power, control, cooling and sensor systems. The generator folds into a backpack sized unit (see image) with the generator, hub and folded blades stored inside.
The unit will produce approximately 500 w/unit high quallity continuous power, obviously depending on the strength of the river current. It can be set up singularly or in arrays of over 30kw.

The backpack is ideal to carry into rugged or remote areas and setup in streams or rivers and can be bottom mounted so they are not visible in the stream or river. This type of power source will open up all new areas to a renewable energy source, for instance it could provide enough energy to power a remote village and shore mounted portable water making systems for countries suffering from poor water quality.

Haim Dotan, a pioneering Israeli architect who was recently selected to design (with designer Prosper Amir) and construct the Israeli Pavilion at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai, China, is the designer behind AORA’s iconic solar energy tower, set to launch on Wednesday, June 24, in Southern Israel.

“The AORA solar tower was conceptualized as a flower in the desert, symbolizing harmony and balance with nature. It incorporates elements of art, sculpture, architecture and soul,” said Haim Dotan, designer and architect of the AORA solar energy tower. “The purpose of the flower is to attract attention, increase awareness, and to create emotion and excitement among adults and children about the importance of clean energy.”

Unlike other solar towers around the world, which are primarily utilitarian, functional towers made of grey galvanized steel; Dotan’s new and innovative solar tower design is shaped like a colorful flower and complements the natural topography of the surrounding landscape.

AORA’s power station, located in Kibbutz Samar, is the world’s first commercial hybrid solarized gas-turbine power station capable of producing uninterrupted, green power during the day. 30 tracking mirrors (heliostats) situated on half an acre of desert land track the sun and reflect its rays towards the top of the 30-meter high solar tower, which consists of a 24-meter structural column and a 6-meter, two level mechanical space containing a special solar receiver, a 100kw gas turbine and related electrical and mechanical equipment.

The patented receiver uses the sun’s energy to heat air to a temperature of 1,000 degrees Celsius and directs this energy into the turbine. The turbine in turn converts the thermal energy into electric power that is fed directly into the national power grid.

“AORA is honored to collaborate with the very talented Mr. Dotan on this project,” said Haim Fried, CEO of AORA. “Mr. Dotan translated AORA’s vision into a stunning, environment-friendly landmark. Moreover, he was able to deliver quality design, production and construction of the tower at a low cost, which is a key component to our solar energy solution.”

The low cost solar tower is made of recyclable materials, mainly pre-fabricated curved steel sheets, which can be easily assembled and erected in just two days. AORA’s modular solar energy system may be scaled and customized according to customer demand. As more energy is needed and as the station expands, additional towers may be erected in a variety of colors, creating a harmonious colorful garden of solar power flower towers.

“I hope to see more beautiful solar flowers throughout deserts and around the world in the coming years,” said Dotan.
